In the Ternopil region, enemy drones destroyed a well-known meat processing plant: damages amount to one million dollars

As a result of an enemy drone attack on May 1 in Ternopil, the facilities of Agrovita Ltd. were destroyed. The company, which has been supplying meat products to the western and central regions of Ukraine since 1995, suffered extensive damage to its production facilities and office spaces. More details in the article "Komersant Ukrainian".

On May 1, Russian drones attacked the city’s industrial zone, where civilian food industry facilities are located. The first and most powerful strike hit the administrative building and production facilities of “Agrovita” directly.

At the time of the explosion, the entire day shift—about 90 people—was at the facility. A tragedy was averted because most of the staff was on their lunch break in a shelter. However, company management remained at their desks in the office, which became the epicenter of the strike.

“Without a word or a request, you are here, helping to clear the rubble and supporting us during this difficult time. There is a lot of work ahead, but we will recover and become even stronger,” Agrovita stated.

A Targeted Strike Against Civilians

According to Andriy Protsyk, the company’s deputy director, speaking to the publication “20 Minutes,” Director Roman Protsyk’s office was hit directly. The room was virtually destroyed: broken windows, shattered furniture, and the floor littered with concrete and glass debris. Protsyk, the company’s director, was in the direct impact zone. Immediately after the explosion, colleagues carried the injured director out on their hands and handed him over to a patrol crew.

Details of the shelling indicate that the strike was targeted.

“There was a direct hit on the product packaging area—all the equipment was completely destroyed. Other buildings on the premises were also destroyed. In particular, the building that was leased to the company ‘Tortino’—along with the tenant’s products,” says Andriy Protsyk.

According to preliminary estimates, equipment losses alone are estimated at 400,000 euros, and the total amount of damage could reach one million dollars. Despite the fact that “Agrovita” has no connection to military infrastructure, the enemy effectively destroyed the food processing plant; however, the staff has already begun clearing the rubble and is preparing for reconstruction.
