Russia attacked a port in the Mykolaiv region: three civilian vessels were damaged

Russian occupation forces continue to attack Ukrainian port infrastructure. On the afternoon of August 3, the occupiers launched two attacks on the Mykolaiv region using Shahed-type attack drones, damaging three civilian vessels.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Georgy Reshetilov, head of the Mykolaiv Regional Military Administration.
According to the Regional Military Administration, over the past 24 hours, Russian troops attacked the region with Shahed-type attack drones both during the day and at night.
Three civilian vessels were damaged in Mykolaiv
On the afternoon of August 3, Mykolaiv’s port infrastructure came under attack. According to updated information, three civilian vessels have already been damaged, whereas earlier reports mentioned two.
However, Russian troops attacked the city again overnight. An 89-year-old woman was killed in the shelling.
Seven more people were injured, including two girls aged 2 and 12. After receiving medical care, they were transferred to outpatient treatment.
The following women also experienced acute stress reactions:
- women aged 70, 72, 80, and 83;
- an81-year-old man.
All received the necessary medical care on site.
In addition, the Russian attack caused significant damage to residential buildings. Two private homes were destroyed, and seven more private homes, a car, and the windows of three apartment buildings were damaged.

Fire in the Mykolaiv District
In the Halytsynivska community of the Mykolaiv district, a fire broke out in a warehouse following an attack by a Shahed strike drone. According to preliminary information, there were no casualties.
In addition, Russian forces attacked the Kutsurubsk community with an FPV drone. No one was injured as a result of this strike either.
Attacks on Ukrainian ports continue
Recently, Russia has significantly intensified its strikes on Ukraine’s maritime and transportation infrastructure.
The day before, Russian forces also launched a missile strike on transportation infrastructure in the Odesa region, once again disrupting export routes.
Ukrainian ports, through which a significant portion of agricultural products and other cargo is exported, remain under constant attack.
Ukraine is seeking alternative export routes
Due to systematic Russian attacks, Ukrainian authorities, together with international partners, are working to establish alternative logistics routes for exporting goods.
The government has already announced the preparation of a support package for the agricultural sector and measures to minimize business losses caused by strikes on port infrastructure.
Experts note that attacks on civilian vessels and seaports pose additional risks to international trade, food security, and the operation of the Ukrainian maritime corridor.
