The State Bureau of Investigations is investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash ofa Ukrainian F-16fighter jet, which occurred on July 29 in the Poltava region. The State Bureau of Investigations announced that it had begun investigating the causes of the crash, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"

The pilot managed to eject. He was evacuated and taken to a medical facility for examination. At this time, the pilot’s life is not in danger.

Where the Ukrainian F-16 Crashed

According to the State Bureau of Investigations, the fighter jet crashed in the Kremenchuk district of the Poltava region.

The incident occurred while the pilot was carrying out a combat mission. The exact crash site and other details that may be of military significance are not being officially disclosed.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that contact was lost with an F-16 fighter jet on July 29 . The aircraft was on a mission to intercept enemy air targets.

State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) personnel are establishing all the circumstances of the plane crash.

As part of the investigation, investigators must determine:

  • the circumstances surrounding flight preparation;
  • compliance with the fighter jet’s operating procedures;
  • the sequence of events leading up to the crash;

Final conclusions can be drawn after the necessary expert examinations have been conducted and the investigation has been completed.

Information about the incident has been entered into the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Part 2 of Article 416 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The case involves violations of flight rules or flight preparation procedures, as well as aircraft operating rules, which led to the crash.
