Mobile service, SMS, and internet access will be restricted in Moscow until May 9

Mobile operators are sending messages to Moscow residents warning of “temporary restrictions” on mobile internet and SMS services from May 5 to May 9. NV reports this, citing Russian media, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

In particular, the mobile operator Beeline is sending such messages in Russia.

“We recommend using Wi-Fi to access the Internet,” Beeline noted.

It should be noted that restrictions in Moscow on the eve of the May 9 parade will become “stricter.” Mobile communications will be blocked not only in central Moscow but also within the Moscow Ring Road. Even “white lists”—internet resources that remain accessible during internet restrictions—may not work.

On the night of May 3, an explosion rocked Moscow following a drone attack. The incident occurred five days before the scheduled May 9 parade, which Russian authorities traditionally turn into a propaganda spectacle.

According to local public groups, an unidentified UAV struck a high-rise building in the Mosfilmovskaya Street area.

This year’s May 9 parade on Red Square in Moscow will take place without military equipment, featuring only a marching column. The number of guests will be reduced to a few hundred people instead of the usual thousands, and the parade itself will last less than an hour.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian drones may appear over the May 9 parade in Moscow. According to him, Russia is no longer as strong as it once was.
