Ukrainians are switching to hybrids in droves: April’s market leaders

In April 2026, more than 3,600 HEV and PHEV hybrid passenger cars were added to Ukraine’s vehicle fleet. This is 33% more than during the same period last year. This was reported by“Ukravtoprom,” according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
New cars accounted for 55% of the hybrid segment, while in April 2025, that figure stood at 63%. The remainder of the market consisted of imported used cars.
The most popular new hybrid models in Ukraine were:
- Toyota RAV4 — 347 cars;
- Toyota Yaris Cross — 120 cars;
- Nissan Qashqai — 102 cars.
Among imported used hybrids, the highest demand was for:
- Ford Escape — 97 cars;
- Kia Niro — 81 cars;
- Toyota Prius — 76 cars.
The growth in hybrid car sales in Ukraine is occurring against the backdrop of stable demand for fuel-efficient models with lower fuel consumption. At the same time, the share of used hybrids continues to increase due to higher prices for new cars and active imports from abroad.
