On Wednesday, April 22, cold air will continue to flow into Ukraine from northern Europe, so frost is expected overnight in most regions. At the same time, despite a cool start to the day, temperatures will rise to 8–13 degrees during the day, while it will be significantly colder in the Carpathians. This forecast was released by the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
Where in Ukraine are frosts expected on April 22
According to forecasters, overnight frosts of 0–3 degrees are expected in most regions of Ukraine.
In most southern regions, temperatures will range from 1 to 6 degrees, but ground frosts of 0 to -3 degrees are also forecast there.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center separately warned that on April 22, a Level II (orange) danger alert would be in effect in the western, northern, and most central regions due to frosts in the air.
What will the daytime temperature be?
During the day, the weather in Ukraine will be cool but without a sharp drop in temperature: forecasters predict 8–13 degrees in most regions.
In the Carpathians, temperatures will be only 3–8 degrees.
These conditions are due to the arrival of a cold air mass, although the sun will still warm the air slightly under mostly clear skies.
Where will there be rain and wet snow
No significant precipitation is expected across most of the country. At the same time, moderate rain will fall in the eastern regions, and light rain and wet snow are possible in the Carpathians during the day.
What winds are forecasters predicting
According to the forecast, winds in Ukraine will be northwesterly, with speeds of 5–10 m/s. It is this northwesterly airflow that will help maintain cool weather during the night and early morning hours.

In Kyiv and the region, variable cloudiness and no precipitation are expected on April 22. In the Kyiv region, forecasters predict frosts of 0…-3 degrees at night, with temperatures warming up to 8…13 degrees during the day.
In the capital, temperatures will range from 1 to 3 degrees at night, with possible ground frosts of 0 to -2 degrees, while daytime temperatures will reach 10 to 12 degrees.
Why the forecast is important for gardeners and drivers
Nighttime frosts in late April pose a risk to flowering trees, seedlings, and early crops. Additionally, wet snow in the Carpathians and morning cold may complicate road conditions in mountainous areas.
