The Cabinet of Ministers has decided to reallocate about UAH 6.3 million to rebuild Okhmatdyt.
This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a government meeting on March 11, "Komersant Ukrainian" reports, citing the Prime Minister’s Telegram.

“Today, the government is redistributing about UAH 6.3 million for the reconstruction of Okhmatdyt. It is about carrying out urgent emergency and conservation work in two hospital buildings,” he said in the post.

Shmyhal emphasized that the restoration of Okhmatdyt is a priority for this year, which the government will consistently work on. The prime minister added that the government is rapidly rebuilding hospitals and outpatient clinics and modernizing medical facilities amid attacks on medical infrastructure by Russia.

At a meeting on March 7, the Cabinet of Ministers allocated UAH 3.3 billion for particularly important healthcare projects, including the restoration of Okhmatdyt and the development of university medicine.

The total needs for restoration and reconstruction in the healthcare sector over the next ten years are estimated at $19.4 billion.

What about the reconstruction of Okhmatdyt?
The journalists of the Nashi Hroshi project found out that the tender was won by Bud-Technologii, which agreed to perform the work at a much higher price than other bidders organized by the Okhmatdyt Charitable Foundation (not the hospital itself).

Among the 14 companies that submitted their bids for the tender, Bud-technology was the third highest bidder. Thus, it expressed its readiness to perform the work for UAH 307 million. At the same time, other bidders offered to do it much cheaper – from 42 to 286 million. In addition, some other problems were found in the proposal of Bud-Technology.

Health Minister Viktor Liashko said that law enforcement would additionally check the tender for the reconstruction of Okhmatdyt. Later he announced that the tender of the charitable foundation would be canceled and a new one would be held.

In addition, tenders for engineering consulting services and technical supervision of repairs at the Okhmatdyt hospital worth UAH 14 million will also be canceled.

Subsequently, the Ministry of Health formed and approved the composition of the Hospital Restoration Council.
