There are over 246,000 millionaire depositors in Ukrainian banks: where do they keep the most money?

In Ukrainian banks, 246,415 citizens hold funds totaling more than 1 million hryvnia in equivalent value. This is roughly equivalent to the population of an average regional center. The state-owned PrivatBank serves the largest number of millionaire depositors—nearly 94,000 people who hold more than 209 billion hryvnia in the bank.
This is evidenced by supervisory statistics from the National Bank of Ukraine, reports "Komersant Ukrainian"
How many Ukrainians have over 1 million UAH in banks
According to the NBU, 246,415 Ukrainians hold funds totaling over 1 million hryvnias in Ukrainian banks.
These are depositors whose funds in accounts and deposits exceed one million hryvnias. In total, such clients hold hundreds of billions of hryvnias in the banking system.
How much money do millionaire depositors hold
The largest group consists of Ukrainians who have between 1 and 2 million UAH in banks. There are over 152,000 such depositors.

The largest amount of funds is concentrated among depositors with over 5 million UAH. There are fewer of them than depositors with amounts of 1–2 million UAH, but the total amount in their accounts is the largest—269 billion UAH.
Which banks have the most millionaire depositors
The top ten banks by number of customers with funds exceeding 1 million UAH include both state-owned, private, and foreign banks.
PrivatBank is the leader, followed by Oschadbank, Universal Bank, UkrSibbank, Raiffeisen Bank, PUMB, Sens Bank, OTP Bank, Ukrgasbank, and A-Bank.

PrivatBank — First in Number of Millionaire Depositors
The state-owned PrivatBank has the largest number of depositors with amounts exceeding 1 million UAH.
The bank has 93,896 depositors holding millions.
The total amount of their funds exceeds 209 billion UAH.
Breakdown of million-dollar deposits at PrivatBank:
- from 1 to 2 million UAH — 61,589 people;
- from 2 to 4 million UAH — 23,219 people;
- from 4 to 5 million UAH — 3,474 people;
- over 5 million UAH — 5,614 people.
Oschadbank — second place
The state-owned Oschadbank ranks second in terms of the number of millionaire depositors.
The bank has 37,564 depositors with over 1 million UAH.
The total amount of their funds exceeds 105 billion UAH.
Breakdown by amount:
- from 1 to 2 million UAH — 21,715 depositors;
- from 2 to 4 million UAH — 10,483 depositors;
- from 4 to 5 million UAH — 1,706 people;
- over 5 million UAH — 3,660 depositors.
Universal Bank — third in the ranking
At Universal Bank, 20,901 depositors hold more than 1 million UAH.
The total amount of funds held by these clients is approximately 47.5 billion UAH.
Among them:
- from 1 to 2 million UAH — 13,921 people;
- from 2 to 4 million UAH — 5,170 people;
- from 4 to 5 million UAH — 686 people;
- over UAH 5 million — 1,124 people.
Raiffeisen Bank and UkrSibbank: Strong Positions of Foreign Banks
At Raiffeisen Bank, 15,048 depositors have savings in the millions.
They hold over 46 billion UAH in the bank.
Breakdown:
- 1–2 million UAH — 8,973 depositors;
- 2–4 million UAH — 3,919 people;
- 4–5 million UAH — 653 people;
- over 5 million UAH — 1,503 depositors.
At UkrSibbank, 15,415 Ukrainians have over 1 million UAH.
Total amount — over 42 billion UAH.
Breakdown:
- 1–2 million UAH — 8,873 depositors;
- 2–4 million UAH — 4,331 depositors;
- 4–5 million UAH — 729 people;
- over 5 million UAH — 1,482 depositors.
FUIB, Sens Bank, and OTP Bank
At PUMB, 10,211 Ukrainians have deposits in the millions.
The total amount is approximately 31 billion UAH.
Sens Bank has 7,014 such depositors.
They hold over 28 billion UAH in the bank.
At OTP Bank, 5,543 depositors have savings in the millions.
The total amount of their funds also exceeds 28 billion UAH.
It should be noted that despite having fewer depositors, OTP Bank holds a comparable amount of funds to Sens Bank, which may indicate a higher concentration of large sums among a portion of its clients.
Ukrgasbank and A-Bank round out the top ten
At Ukrgasbank, 5,217 depositors hold funds exceeding 1 million UAH.
The total amount exceeds 17 billion UAH.
At A-Bank, 3,746 Ukrainians hold deposits of over 1 million UAH.
The total amount of these funds is approximately 9.4 billion UAH.

What these statistics show
Data from the NBU indicates that Ukrainians continue to hold significant funds in the banking system even amid the war. The highest concentration of millionaire depositors is found in large state-owned banks, primarily PrivatBank and Oschadbank.
This can be explained by the size of their customer base, trust in state-owned banks, a wide service network, and the habit of Ukrainians to keep their funds in institutions with state participation.
At the same time, significant amounts are also held in banks with foreign capital—Raiffeisen Bank, UkrSibbank, and OTP Bank.
