Mykola Bruev, a Ukrainian soldier, defender of Mariupol, and fighter with the Azov Brigade, died in Russian captivity as a result of torture.

This was reported by the defender’s comrades, according to the TV channel “TV-7 Mariupol,” as reported by "Komersant Ukrainian".

Mykola Bruev, known by the call sign “Brusha,” died as a result of brutal treatment while in captivity. His death was confirmed by a fellow soldier with the call sign “Combat,” who noted that torture was the cause of death.

Mykola Bruev’s Military Career

Mykola Bruev joined the Ukrainian army in 2019 and served as an infantryman with the Azov Battalion.

After his contract ended, he returned to civilian life, but with the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, he voluntarily returned to defend his country, participating in the defense of Mariupol.

Russia systematically denies Ukrainian prisoners of war the right to medical care, using treatment as a form of pressure, torture, and dehumanization.
