Why the president issued this warning
The warning came after one of the largest Russian attacks in recent times. During the strike on the night of June 2, Russia used over 70 missiles and 650 drones, and later that day launched another 100 or so drones.
As a result of this attack, at least 22 people were killed in Ukraine, and another 130 were wounded.
The main blow fell on Kyiv, but explosions and destruction were also reported in other regions.
The president acknowledged that the current level of Ukraine’s air defense capabilities is insufficient to intercept a significant portion of the missiles.
Separately, Zelenskyy emphasized the need for an anti-ballistic system for Europe that could guarantee protection against such threats.
