Exilenova, citing NASA FIRMS imagery, confirmed the attack on the Semikolodezansk oil depot and the fire that broke out there. As the outlet notes, the area of thermal signatures at the site of the fire is currently expanding, which may indicate that the blaze is intensifying.
Media outlets are also reporting an attack and explosions at the oil depot in Feodosia. Additionally, there are reports of a strike on a military unit in the village of Radianske. No detailed information is available yet regarding the consequences of the strikes in Feodosia and Radianske.
The Semikolodezanskaya oil depot in Lenino operated during the Soviet era, was closed in the 1990s, and resumed operations after the annexation of Crimea under the Russian company BK-Terminal LLC.
Feodosia is home to the largest oil depot in Crimea—JSC “Maritime Oil Terminal.” The facility can hold up to 250,000 tons of fuel.
Reports of explosions also came in from other parts of the peninsula throughout the night. According to media sources, explosions were heard in Dzhankoy, Sevastopol, and Simferopol.
