Queues at the border with Poland may grow longer: where repairs will continue until summer
24 April 04:10
At the Ukrainian-Polish border, at the “Rava-Ruska” checkpoint, traffic delays are expected for over a month due to road resurfacing work. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has issued a warning about this, according to "Komersant Ukrainian"
Work will begin at 9:00 a.m. on April 24, 2026, and, according to the preliminary plan, will last approximately until June 1, 2026.
Where exactly will there be complications at the border?
The area in question is the service zone in front of the “Rava-Ruska” border crossing on the Ukrainian side. Road workers will be repairing the pavement there, which may slow down traffic both entering and exiting Ukraine.
According to the State Border Guard Service, repairs will begin at 9:00 a.m. on April 24. Work is tentatively expected to be completed by June 1, meaning restrictions may remain in place for over a month.
The Border Guard Service emphasizes that this timeline is approximate.

How traffic will be organized
During the repairs, traffic will be allowed to pass in both directions using a single lane. In other words, traffic will effectively be alternating, which will create a risk of delays and disruptions in the flow of traffic.
The State Border Guard Service has warned that temporary delays and minor changes in the intensity of border crossings are possible during the repairs.
Drivers are advised to take this into account when planning their route and, if possible, choose the optimal time to cross the border.
The “Rava-Ruska” border crossing is one of the most popular routes on the border with Poland, so even temporary changes in traffic management can affect the flow of vehicles and increase wait times.
