“The lines are visible from space”: Another region of the Russian Federation has imposed limits on gasoline and diesel sales

Restrictions on fuel sales have been officially imposed in the Belgorod Region amid the fuel crisis that has engulfed virtually all of Russia. This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing Russian propaganda media.
According to Belgorod Region Governor Alexander Shuvaev, gas stations are now prohibited from selling more than 30 liters of gasoline and more than 60 liters of diesel fuel to a single customer.
“We are seeing localized disruptions in the availability and distribution of certain fuel brands at some gas stations… To ensure there is enough fuel for everyone, we are introducing temporary restrictions,” said the head of the Belgorod Region.
According to Shuvaev, the authorities are “tightening accountability measures” for fuel retailers who violate the decisions of the region’s operational headquarters.
“Gasoline must be available, and there must be enough for everyone,” he stated.
At the same time, residents of border areas that are regularly subjected to shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces have been allowed to fill up their vehicles using “certified containers.”
“I ask residents to be understanding. We are doing everything necessary. The fuel situation in the region remains stable and under control,” the governor said.
Restrictions on fuel sales were introduced amid widespread power and water outages in Belgorod and its suburbs, which began on July 3 as a result of massive missile strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the city’s power substations and heating plants.

The fuel crisis, which arose as a result of Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refining facilities, has affected virtually all regions of the Russian Federation and the occupied territories of Ukraine. In nearly half of the regions, authorities have officially imposed restrictions on fuel sales. For the most part, these restrictions consist of a ban on filling gasoline into canisters and limits on the amount of fuel dispensed per tank. Huge lines are forming at gas stations due to supply disruptions, some of which are already visible from space. In a number of regions, gasoline is now being distributed on a priority basis to officials and civil servants.
