Due to the war in Ukraine, the development of surrogacy for foreigners, which was previously a popular form of medical tourism, has almost come to a halt. This was discussed in an interview with the YouTube channel
“There are very few women left who are called surrogate mothers. Those who carried children for foreigners, in particular. Now there are practically none. No one comes to Ukraine for this anymore.
It used to be very popular. It was one of the areas of medical tourism,” he said.
According to the head of the center, the full-scale war has effectively stopped this trend due to security risks and obvious difficulties for foreign citizens.
“Now there is a war, so there is no such thing. For obvious reasons. I will not judge whether this is good or bad. I have certain ethical boundaries on this issue.
In general, I believe that when the war ends, we will all see a baby boom,” he said.
