16 December 2024 09:43

The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine has initiated a large-scale reform of service centers aimed at eliminating technical problems, optimizing work and improving the provision of services to citizens. This was stated in an interview with Suspilne by Interior Ministry spokeswoman Mariana Reva, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".

“A technical audit is currently underway at the service centers to help identify problems that complicate access to services. In addition, the Main Service Center will soon receive a new management team.

According to Mariana Reva, the Interior Ministry spokesperson, the ministry has already held consultations with representatives of other government agencies, including the Ministry of Digital Transformation, to adopt best practices.

The main goal is to eliminate technical gaps, in particular in the online recording system, which should make access to services more convenient and modern.

Reva emphasized that the relaunch will include not only digitalization of processes but also a large-scale reform of the structure. In particular, it is planned to update the staff, strengthen control and modernize the regulations governing the activities of the units. At the same time, the process of selecting new managers for the Main Service Center is underway. The previous management has been dismissed, although internal audits are still underway.

“We are currently selecting candidates for these positions. The previous heads have been dismissed (at their own request, but internal checks are still being conducted – ed.),” the Interior Ministry spokeswoman said.

She added that official checks are also underway against a number of employees of the Kyiv Territorial Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 8041, who were featured in the Bihus.Info investigation.

According to the spokeswoman, such cases undermine confidence in the entire system, although most employees perform their duties in good faith and professionally.

“In addition, such checks are carried out in every service center in the country. It takes more time because we are interested in the effectiveness of such measures. The inspections are aimed at identifying facts that may indicate dishonesty or other violations of individual employees. Such information is immediately forwarded to the competent authorities for a proper response,” Reva said.

The results of such checks can range from disciplinary sanctions, such as reprimands, to dismissal. In cases where signs of an administrative or criminal offense are found, the materials are transferred for further investigation.

As reported by [Kommersant] reported a journalistic investigation, the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Kyiv launched an unscheduled official inspection of the unit’s activities.
