Russia has destroyed one of Ukraine’s largest ceramic tile manufacturing facilities: “Epicenter” is shutting down the plant

During a massive nighttime attack on August 5, Russian occupation forces struck the production and logistics infrastructure of the company “Epicenter.” As a result of the shelling, one of Ukraine’s largest ceramic tile production facilities was virtually destroyed, two strategic logistics complexes were completely burned down, and one company employee was killed.
This was reported by "Komersant Ukrainian", citing an official statement from Epicenter.
Russia struck two key logistics complexes
According to the company, the Russian army simultaneously attacked two of the network’s most important logistics facilities.
In Kyiv, the logistics center on Viskozna Street—one of the company’s key hubs—was completely destroyed.
Another strike hit the logistics and production complex in Kalynivka, Kyiv Oblast.
It was there that one of the company’s employees was killed, and three other employees were injured and hospitalized.

Ceramic tile production facility destroyed
The Epicentr Ceramic Corporation plant suffered the greatest losses.
One of the Russian missiles struck the company’s production site directly.
The company reported that a powerful explosion:
- completely destroyed the production kilns;
- made it impossible for the plant to continue operations;
- effectively destroyed one of the largest ceramic tile production facilities in Ukraine.
In addition, the employee parking lot near the logistics complex was completely burned down— 20 private cars were destroyed.
“Epicenter” is relocating production abroad
Following the attack, the company was forced to decide to completely shut down operations.
The press office reported that to avoid product shortages, production will be temporarily relocated to two of the company’s plants outside Ukraine.
At the same time, preparations are underway to launch production at another facility in Ukraine.
According to preliminary estimates, it will take at least one and a half to two years to rebuild the destroyed plant.
The extent of the damage is still being assessed
Epicenter notes that it is not yet possible to determine the final amount of the losses.
The company emphasizes that its top priority right now is:
- ensuring an uninterrupted supply of products;
- fulfilling contracts with partners;
- preserving jobs;
- restoring production capacity as quickly as possible.
The attack was part of a massive strike on Kyiv and the surrounding region
On the night of August 5, Russia carried out one of the largest combined attacks on Kyiv and the Kyiv region.
According to official data:
- 14 people were killed in the Kyiv region, and another 27 were injured;
- one person was killed in Kyiv, and more than two dozen were injured.
Residential buildings, businesses, logistics centers, and civilian infrastructure facilities were targeted.
