Zelensky dismissed heads of two regional executive offices: presidential decrees

On December 30, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed decrees dismissing the heads of the Kyiv and Poltava regional military administrations, Ruslan Kravchenko and Philip Pronin. This is evidenced by the relevant presidential decrees – №887/2024 and №888/2024, reports [Kommersant]

The reasons for the dismissal are the applications submitted by Kravchenko and Pronin.

“To dismiss Ruslan Kravchenko from the post of head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration in accordance with his application,” the document says.

The President also signed a decree dismissing Philip Pronin from the post of head of the Poltava Regional State Administration in accordance with his application.

It is not yet known who will be appointed to the vacant positions.

As a reminder, on December 28, the government supported the decision of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy to dismiss the heads of Kyiv Regional Military District Administration Ruslan Kravchenko and Poltava Regional Military District Administration Philip Pronin.

Pronin was appointed to the post of head of the Poltava Regional Military District in 2023. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Head of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA).

Meanwhile, Kravchenko was also appointed to his position in the Kyiv Regional Administrative Office in 2023. The previous head of the administration, Oleksiy Kuleba, was instead appointed deputy head of the Presidential Office.

According to sources [Kommersant]sources, Ruslan Kravchenko may take over as Prosecutor General of Ukraine in the near future.

As you know, after the NSDC meeting on October 22 , Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin announced that he was resigning.

Instead, Ruslan Kravchenko’s first deputy, Mykola Kalashnyk, who headed the Darnytsia District State Administration from 2022 to November 2024, may become the new head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office.

Following the resignation of Andriy Kostin, the position of Prosecutor General of Ukraine has become one of the most discussed in political circles. According to Kommersant Ukrainian Комерсант Український, it is most likely that Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Kyiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, will be appointed to the post of the Prosecutor General’s Office. His candidacy for this position was approved by the Bankova Street back in May of this year.

Kravchenko is the favorite among all the other likely candidates to head the PGO, of which there are three in total.

These are Oleh Kiper, head of the Odesa Regional Anti-Corruption Bureau, and Iryna Mudra, deputy head of the Presidential Office.
