Amid the ongoing war, Ukrainians continue to start families, buy homes, open businesses, and invest in their own future. Maksym Tsymbal, first deputy chairman of the board of Pivdenny Bank, spoke about this in an interview with the "Komersant Ukrainian" YouTube channel.

“The full-scale war has been going on for five years now. The horizon of uncertainty has become so long that people have decided: there’s no need to wait for anything. We need to live our lives here and now,” the banker noted.

According to Tsymbal, this behavior is not a sign of recklessness; on the contrary, it demonstrates society’s adaptation to new conditions.

“People are starting to raise families, buy apartments, open businesses, and invest. To a certain extent, this is both courage and adaptability. Ukrainians are gradually moving away from the ‘postponed life’ syndrome,” he emphasized.
