ATB has started hiring 17-year-olds: two positions are available
6 July 06:12
The ATB supermarket chain has opened up job opportunities for teenagers aged 17 and older. Applications can be submitted online, the company said, according to "Komersant Ukrainian".
Two positions are currently available for minors: loader and order picker. According to the published job listings, a loader’s salary can reach 30,000 UAH, while an order picker’s salary starts at 28,000 UAH.
The company notes that employees work on a 4-on-4-off rotating schedule with 12-hour shifts. However, minors are not hired as cashiers, as this position involves financial responsibility and handling cash.
After the recruitment announcement appeared on social media, a discussion arose regarding whether such a schedule complies with labor law requirements. In particular, users pointed out that, according to the Labor Code of Ukraine, employees aged 16 to 18 are subject to reduced working hours—no more than 36 hours per week—and are required to undergo a mandatory medical examination.
When asked about this issue, ATB’s HR department recommended clarifying the details directly during the hiring process.
It should be noted that ATB is the largest grocery supermarket chain in Ukraine. As of 2026, the company operates more than 1,300 stores nationwide.
